A Quick Pit Stop in Toronto
Today, we are once again sailing the St. Lawrence Seaway, and our spirits are high as we once again continue our longitudinal world cruise. Since our last update, we've continued our journey east and navigated the seven locks. We had to admire our Captain's ability to squeeze the Octantis safely through these waterways until we arrived for a overnight stay in the good old..... 416. It's always a pleasure to reconnect with family and friends, and this visit was no exception. Luckily, Andra was issued a guest pass, allowing her to visit the Octantis and enjoy all the benefits she had to offer......especially the open bar!!
Bittersweet Goodbyes
As wonderful as it was to be back home, our visit was tinged with a bit of sadness. We had to bid farewell to our fellow passengers whom we had bonded with for the past 30 days; however, a new group of passengers and crew have embarked and we hope to establish similar friendships with them. There’s something special about the bonds formed during our travels, and saying goodbye always brings a mix of emotions. However, it’s these connections that enrich our travel experiences, and we’re thankful for every shared moment.
Exploring Trois-Rivières and Beyond
After saying our goodbyes, we set sail for Trois-Rivières, Quebec. This charming city did not disappoint, with its historic neighbourhoods and beautiful riverfront parks. Walking through the streets, we couldn't help but admire the stunning architecture. Yet, the highlight of our day came when we stumbled upon Mezcal's, a cool little Mexican resto with the friendliest staff. The vibrant atmosphere and flavourful dishes had us smiling from ear to ear! Who doesn't love a Michelada Diablo with happy hour pricing!
Teeing off in Quebec
Yesterday we returned to beautiful Quebec City. Upon arrival we took advantage of the gorgeous weather and Fall colours and booked a tee time at Royal Charbourg. Calum and I both played decent but then head to cut the round short after 16 holes because we ran out of golf balls! Still it was a great day that we won't soon forget.
Tomorrow we will arrive in the Magdalen Islands as we start making our way down the east coast of North America. We can't wait to experience all this area has to offer. Thanks again for following along.
